CAS-ual Fridays BLING Challenge / The Craft's Meow EMBOSSING Challenge

Hello all...
Here is a card that I created for two different challenges.  The first on is CAS-ual Fridays.  This is a great blog with an even greater DT.  They inspire and give great tips and encourage you to be creative.  They are also a weekly challenge blog that is dedicated to to CAS design - CLEAN and SIMPLE.  So, if CAS is your style, this is the blog for you.  Their challenge was to BRING the BLING - and bling could be rhinestones, pearls, glitter, stickles, etc....and this is the card that I created for this challenge.

The second challenge that I am participating in is The Craft's Meow.  This is another great blog.  Their challenge was to use embossing on your project - heat or dry and this is what I came up with.  I dry embossed the green label using my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder and I heat embossed the butterfly and the word sentiment using VersaMark ink and white opaque powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Thanks you for being my friend...

Hello and TGIF!!!!

I am so looking forward to the weekend.  I have lots to do today and I am running out to a doctor's appointment, so I will make this post quick.

Today's card is CAS (Clean and Simple) and what I love most about this type of card, is the fact that the stamped image remains the focus of the card.  Here I used a stamp by HeroArts - Decorative Birds.  These birds are too cute.  I also did another technique called Paper Piecing - I stamped the image on pattern paper, cut out the wings and then adhered them to the original stamped image....I also added some glossy accents for shine.....

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!
Kimba :)

HOW-TO Instructions
Step 1: Card base measures 4.25 x 5.50 - Red
Step 2: 2nd Layer measures 4 x 5.25 - Emboss using CuttleBug and Swiss Dots Folder
Step 3: Punch out scallop square using punch - Black
Step 4: Punch out square using punch, stamp Dots image, then stamp bird image
Step 5: Stamp bird image on pattern paper.  Cut out its wings and adhere to bird.  Add Glossy Accents
Step 6: Punch out heart and adhere to bird's beak
Step 7: Stamp word sentiment.  Add gemstones

HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY.....

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Happy Monday and Happy "love" Day!  I hope that this day you share it with people you love - be it family, friends,  or your significant other - just make sure you enjoy and have fun!
Today's card was just that - fun to create.  The stamp is from HeroArts and it's called In The Garden K5353.  When I first got this stamp, I bought it more so because it's a HeroArts stamp than because I just loved it. I just love the company and their quality of stamps are awesome.  When I was creating this card, I wanted to have the image be the focal point and so much so that all that was left would be a simple sentiment.  I stamped the image and heat embossed it using white opaque powder.  I added the punched heart to show the little boy was giving his heart away or vice versa - how cute!
Anyway....this is the card that I plan on giving my hubby.  Remember, the "how-to" is below and please, leave me some "comment love".  I love hearing from you.  Have a great Monday and and even greater Valentine's Day!!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Medley Merry Chistmas

Hello All.....HAPPY MONDAY!!!!

Today's card was real fun to make.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Peeled Paint and Fired Brick - and inked up the stamp, spritzed it with water and stamped the image.  These Distress Inks can produce such rich colors when you do this technique.  If you have any of these inks, pull 'em out and give this technique a try.  I am so sure that you will like the outcome.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!

Today's card is following the Mother's day card theme. This is a quick and easy card to create and I believe it has the "less is more" look. I am loving working with kraft color cardstock and so I decided to create a Mother's Day card using ust that. I hope you like it and as always, thanks for stopping by!

HOW-TO Instructions
Step 1: Base card measuring 4.5 x 6.25 (KRAFT) - Tie a ribbon around the card and then tie it using a piece of white string.

Step 2: 2nd layer (TURQUOISE) measures 2 x 4.5 - Round the corners using your corner rounder and then run it through your Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots Embossing folder

Step 3: 3rd Layer (WHITE) I used my Scallop Edge Rectangle Nestabilities to cut and emboss. I stamped the image and then colore it in using Prisma Colored Pencils.

Step 4: I stamped the bird again and colored it. I cut it out and added foam dots and adhered it on top of the bird image. This allows the bird to stand out.

HAPPY ST.PATRICK DAY!!!

Hello all-

Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody!!! here in NYC, every year, there is a parade in midtown that starts at 11am and ends at 5pm. It is also televised for those who prefer to watch it on TV. Today's card i inspired by today's holiday. I created a monochromatic (that means all in one particuliar color) card all in green. Green is my son's favorite color, so he loved this card. I hope you do too!

The stamp is by Stampedous and I colored it in using PrismaColor Coloed Pencils. I also used Ranger's Inkssential's Glossy Accent to add a bit of dimension.

Let the CARD be the FOCUS...

Hello everyone and HAPPY TUESDAY!!!

Today's card I love making because I got to one of my favorite things - COLOR!!! I remember being a little girl coloring in my coloring books. I took it soooo seriously. Outlining the image with a dark line, and then coloring the inside with that same color, but very softly...you know, so the image would sort of pop! Well, at that time, I had no idea that I was training myself for bigger and better things -CARD MAKING & PAPER CRAFTING!!

This card that I created I did not put a word sentiment. I left it blank so that the embellishments and layers would totally be the focus. I colored the owl in using my PrismaColor Colored Pencils - love them!

I hope you like the card and that it inspires you to create a card where your design is the focus!

Journal #2

Hello all -
Here is the first journal that I made using the glue. You are not able to see it, but the covers are slightly bent. I solved this problem by putting the covers between two large telephone books and then topped with a 20 lbs. weight.

Please, leave comments and let me know what you think. If you are interested in the measurements, please, let me know. I used Marcella 3D stickers that just so happened to go with the Anna Griffin paper I used. In any case, enjoy!
