See The Flowers Smiling

Hello all & Happy Monday!

I know that some of you are football fans and may have watched the Super Bowl yesterday....and I am hoping that you enjoyed yourself as well as made a little time for crafting too!

Here is my card for today. It is part of a weekly acrd challenge at Heroarts.com. The theme is flowers and being BOLD. I love this card because the colors are just that - BRIGHT & BOLD. I used my PrismaColor Colored Pencils to color in the flowers and added foam dots to the 2nd and 4th flower. I hope that you like it and that it inspires you to start making some BOLD, BRIGHT Valentine's Day Cards for your love ones.

Thanks for stopping by!

FLOWER WEEK - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - PrismaColor Colored Pencils

Good morning all...

Happy Hump Day! I have a great card to show you today. This card is a birthday card that I made for a friend. This card was so much fun to make because it involves smething that we all love to do - COLOR!!!! I stamped the flower image and then colored in the flowers using PRISMA COLOR Colored Pencils. After coloring in the image, I used GAMSOL to help smooth out and blend the color in. I loved the way it came out because the card looks so bright and cheerful!

I hope you like the card and pull out those colored pencils and get to coloring! Thanks for stopping by!

More DISTRESS INKS and ALCOHOL INKS

TGIF everyone!
It is the end of the week and the beginning of the weekend. I am so looking forward to this weekend. I will be getting together with some friends that I have not seen in a while, so I know that it's going to be much laughing!!!

I created 2 cards for you today, both using the Distress Inks and Alcohol Inks. The first card is done w/the Distress Inks. I masked off BOTH the grass and sky parts of the card. I used Boken China (blue) and the Peeled Paint (green). Next I stamped the tree images, added brown bows to the trees, stamped the word sentiment.

The 2nd card, I used the sheet of stripes I made on Wednesday card and I punched out butterflies. Both cards are super simple and would be worth trying to make.

I hope you liked the cards. Be sure to give it try this weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

ALUMINUM FOIL on my CARD - it's not just for wrapping up food!

Good Morning all...
Happy HUMP DAY!! Two more days until the start of the weekend - Yay!
I am really excited to show you the card that I made yesterday. I think that it came out really nice and I want to share with you how it was done. I had recently purchased some Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and I wanted to get some more use out of them. I had watched his videos where he used them on metal and I loved the way it had come out on the project. I decided I wanted to try it, but after looking all thru my house for some metal, I came up empty.....but then it came to me....I have something that "sorta metal-like". What about ALUMINUM FOIL??? I wonder if that would work? And the card above is the results. It worked FANTASTICALLY!!!!

This morning, I attempted to make a video showing you how to make the card, but now I have to edit it. Making a Tutorial video is hard work....I didn't realize that. I forgot my tape, so I had to get up in the middle and get it, I fumbled over my words, etc....so..in short, I HAVE TO edit it. But what I have done is put the supply list below. If the video is really not so good, I will take screen shots of how I created the card with detailed instructions on the side. So, fingers crossed that it all works out...LOL!!

So, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you try this on your next project!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

In light of the holiday, the MYSTERY MATERIAL MONDAY will be posted tomorrow morning. I have a break between grilling and I thought that I would post a card that I created.

One of the things that I am really trying to do is be more Take care of the EARTH/GO GREEN conscious. I have watched so many shows this past week about how each of us can do our part. I know that in my household, my children have been really getting into recycling. Old T-shirts we have used as rags to wash our car and to clean up around the house. I throw them in the washer and re-use them. Any scraps of food we have, we have been giving them all to our neighbor who is creating their own compost. I have even switched out all my light bulbs to use the ones that help save energy. So, in light of that, I have become more aware of how I can use things that I come in contact with everyday and think of a creative way to incorporate them w/in my cards. Well, I am going to post one card that I think I was successful at. The brown embossed background is a BROWN PAPER BAG. I cut off the top of the bag, ran it thru my CuttleBug, used some distress ink to make the texture of the embossed image pop and VOILA!!!

Let me know what you think. Maybe this can be away for you to challenge yourself in thinking about how you can "recycle"and incorporate them in your cards and projects. I would love to hear and see them.

Thanks so much for stopping by and continue to enjoy this Memorial Day w/family & friends!
Kimba :)
