GUESS the MATERIAL CHALLENGE - Give-A-Way!!!

Good Morning all-

It's Thursday and I thought that I would do a CHALLENGE today and give a great prize for the person who gets the answer right. Okay...here's how we are going to do this.

I am uploading a card that I created. On that card, I used an "unconvetional" item as part of the embellishment. What you would need to do is NAME THAT ITEM I USED and WHERE ON THE CARD I USED IT. You are ONLY allowed to give one answer. You have until 10:59pm EST tonight to post your answer in the COMMENT SECTION of this post. I will then take all the poeple who answered CORRECTLY, and then a GRAND PRIZE winner from the CORRECT ANSWERS will then be selected. I hope that make sense. The winner will be announced FRIDAY MORNING on my blog....so you will have to come back to see if you won!
Now...I guess you are wondering what the give awaw is......DRUM ROLL PLEASE...........................................................................................................................................................

The Prize is a TIM HOLTZ DESIGN RULER. This ruler is great b/c it is a clear measuring stick with a straight edge and grid for drawing lines and measuring lengths, a metal strip for cutting, and evenly spaced holes for piercing.
Well....good luck. Remember ONLY ONE ANSWER PER PERSON. You can make as many comments about the card as you like....but only ONE answer per person. Just say, MY ANSWER FOR THE CHALLENGE IS________________________. THE________ was used on the card here....and name that area.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!!!

Happy Hump Day all....

It's Wednesday and that means that half the week is over and soon you will be able to start your weekend.

Here is my card for the day. It was fun to make b/c I love using twine in cards. There is something so organic and earthy about it and I love the way it looks when it is used in a creative way. I hope you enjoy the card too!

TIM HOLTZ inks sooo ROCK!

Good Monday Morning!
Here in NYC, it is 9:23am ....it is 70 degrees and gorgeous!!! I am sooo excited about the warm weather and look forward to enjoying each day w/my kids and hubby!!!
My LSS - Michael's has gotten a new section in their store where they carry alot of Tim Holtz products. I purchased all the Distressed ink that they had and tried some cool techniques.

On this card here, I used 3 different inks - SPICED MARMALADE, PEELED PAINT, & BROKEN CHINA. I then spritzed the rubber stamp w/water and stamped the image on watercolor paper. I dried it using a heating tool. Next, I distressed the edges and then used WALNUT STAIN to distress the entire front image. I think that it came out wonderfully!!! Please share your thoughts and if you want to ask anything, please do so.

A CARD a DAY keeps me BLOGGING everyday!!! - WEDNESDAY

HAPPY HUMP DAY everyone!!!

I can not believe how fast this week is going by. You may not know, but my children are out for their Easter/Spring Break and it could not be Monday the 20th, any sooner.....LOL!!! They both (Jackson - he is 10 and Kennedy - she is 6) have 2 projects EACH that are due when they come back...and I can not figure out for the life of me WHY it's considered a "break" when the parents aren't really getting one. I mean with these 4 projects, I feel like I am back in elementary school again....LOL!!!

In any case, as promised, here is my Card-a-Day for Wednesday. I hope that you like it. My material of choice today that my stamped image is on is WOOD!!! I think it came out really nice - the ink did not bleed and the image was CLEAN & CRISP! I also stamped the image on orange cardstock and then cut the wings out at attached them to the stamped image. I love that little touch!

In any case, thanks for stopping by, leave comments, and ya'll come back tomorrow....

A CARD a DAY keeps me BLOGGING everyday!!! - RECALL

Hey there all-
I am not sure what happened, but my last post I posted at 11:50pm EST and for some reason, it was dated TUESDAY. In the post, I mention making a card everyday for the entire week, so today, Tuesday, I will post TWO cards to my blog and that will balance it out...get it? LOL...I sure hope so....

So, check back later today and give me your feedback on my card.

A CARD a DAY keeps me BLOGGING everyday!!! - MONDAY

Hey there all....

HAPPY MONDAY! HAPPY MONDAY! I hope that everyone is doing well today. My oldest daughter Kennedy had a 'movie date' w/5 little girls from school to see the Hannah Montana movie, and I must say, it was really pretty good! I was throughly entertained!!

In any case, I wanted to ask if you liked the TITLE of today's entry? My sister Crystal has been talking to me about pursuing a venture and one of her challenges was that I should create a card everyday.....just one.....not a set, not 3....JUST ONE. Now, that sounds easy enough, but it was a little bit of a challenge...finding time to do the card, coming up with a sketch, etc....

So, long story short, I will be making A-Card-a-Day and posting it to my blog for 7 days straight - starting Monday, ending Sunday. So please, continue to stop by!!!

Thanks for looking!

Happy Easter & Thank You!

HAPPY EASTER / PASSOVER everyone....

I hope that you all had a wonderful time with your families as you celebrated the holiday!

A friend of mine stopped by my house and bought Easter baskets for my children and I. It was such a nice gesture and the baskets were really beautiful. I made a Thank You card for her. I plan to give it to her for thinking of me and my family. I created this card....in literally 5 minutes. That is a record for me!!...LOL! I think it came out pretty nice and I just had to post it! Let me know what you think....comments are welcomed!

M is for Monograms

Hello all,

I just wanted to share with you some notecards that I made for my sister Crystal. I mailed these out to her as a surpise (so Crystal if you are reading this SURPRISE :0...LOL!) and I sure hope she likes them. I CB the first layer w/Swiss Dots and then I stamped her monogarm and backed it with black cardstock. It was very simple, but I think they look really classic. I also stamped the envelope w/the same monogram to make the set complete.

My Color Wheel Card

Hello all-

Happy Thursday!!! I am really glad that today is Thursday....WHY you say? Today is my kids last day of school and their Spring Break begins. That means, no more early morning drop offs....I can..or I hope to be able to sleep in a little bit as oppose to my 6am wake up duty!!!

In any case, My friend Zoe has a birthday. It is Sunday and I made her this card. I really liked the way it came out b/c there are layers on it. Her favorite colors are Purple & Yellow and I am not sure if you know this, but Purple and Yellow are complementary colors on the color wheel. Those are 2 colors that I would not ordinarily put together, but I think they work well on the card that I made. Let me know what you think. Comments welcomed!

Have a great day today and thanks for stopping by!
