CAARDVARKS CLEAN & SIMPLE Challenge - Thanks!

Hey everybody and Happy Monday to you!

I am very excited to share with you today's card. I created it for a challenge that Caardvarks is having entitled Clean and Simple. If you get a chance, stop by this blog. It is a great place to get inspired and there are loads of talented people who submit their creations. Anyway, the theme was to create a card that is Clean and Simple. I would describe my style of cards as Clean and Simple - clean lines and symmetry and balance is what I aim for...not sure if I hit it every time (teehee)...
I hope you like the card. I created it using Kraft cardstock...my new favorite color to use now....What I did in terms of the sentiment is that HeroArts has a clear stamp sheet. The one that I used was the Thank You Messages (CL142) and I grouped a bunch of the "thank yous", placed them on my acrylic block and stamped the image. This method is great if you want to create a background...spacing the stamps out, and then randomly stamping. I love the way it came out.

Well, thanks for checking out my card and fingers crossed that I win the challenege. The prize package is wayyyyy cool!

Kimba :)

HOW-TO Instructions
Step 1: Base measures 4.50 x 6.25 - (KRAFT)
Step 2: Cut a piece of Bird Cage pattern paper by Recollections 1 x 6.25. Punch scallop edge. Adhere to card.
Step 3: Tie ribbon
Step 4: Stamp sentiment. Round the OPPOSITE corners. Adhere to card.
Step 5: Create faux stitching

Hi Everyone,

I am very excited about sharing this card with you today. I did some distressing using Tim Holtz's inks and I did some heat embossing too! I love how each element came together to help make the card. I also have been inspred by the changing of the seasons - from summer to fall and that is why I chose the leaf stamp as the focal point.

I hope that you like the card and that you will be inspired by the changing season to create something that is amazing. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello all-

It has been a long day and I am so sorry for thr late post. Today was my kids first day back to school and man, I am exhausted!!!! My body must have still been in 'summer mode' because it took me a while to get started this morning. I have been up since 5am and have been running ever sense. As I was sitting here, I said, I better post my card on the blog before the Sandman comes and takes me out....and the way I feel, I wouldn't even be able to fight him back LOL!!!

Here's the card for today. I just bought this stamp from Michaels in the dollar bin, and in cas you didn't know, I love, love, love butterflies. Can't resist buying em'. I stamped the image twics. Once on the white cardstock and again on blue cardstock. I cut the butterfly on the blue cardstock out and adhered it on top of the stamped image. I bent the wings slightly to give it dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

HAPPY September 1st to YOU!!!!

Hello and Happy September 1st,

As promised, Kimba's Kreations is back and I am so happy about it! As you may have noticed (I hope you have) the blog has had a "face lift". We had to look good for our "coming out/back" party...LOL!! I hope you like what you see.

But, let's get right to what you came here to see: CARDS! CARDS! and more CARDS! And without further ado, here's is today's card. I really enjoyed making this card because I have a love for all things butterfly!! Butterfly stamps is the image that I have the most of. Everytime I see a butterfly stamp, I just have to buy it. Hey, that maybe a great theme to do for a week -hmmmm... gotta chuck that away in the idea file.

I hope you like the card and the one thing that I really liked about making this is that this is a card that you could "mass make". All you would need is pattern paper, circle punch, and your favorite butterfly stamp. You could do an assembly line to create this and of course your favorite sentiment.

As promised, the HOW-TO instructions are listed below as well as the supply list in the LABLES FOR THIS POST section. If you have any questions, please, ask away....and don't forget to leave me some love in your comments!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
Kimba :)

HOW-TO Instructions
Step 1: Base card measure 4.25 x 5.5 (WHITE)
Step 2: 2nd Layer measures 4 x 5.25 (PATTERN PAPER) - adhere this to the card
Step 3: Punch out Circle and then stamp the butterfly image onto circle. Adhere to the card.
Step 4: Stamp butterfly image onto white cardstock. Color butterfly. Cut out and adhere it to the stamp butterfly image on the circle. Bend wings a little to add deminsion and give the illusion that the butterfly is flying.
Step 5: Stamp word sentiment at the bottom of card
